People blame their concentration when the real problem is that they are sitting in a corridor, facing a door, at the wrong height, with a boiler behind the wall. Where you sit does more work than which technique you chose. This course is about building that place — outdoors, on a balcony, or in one square metre of a shared flat.
What is inside
- Siting. Reading light, wind, noise and sightlines before you move anything.
- The seat. Height, depth, material, and why 8 cm too high ruins the whole thing.
- Sound. What masks traffic and what merely adds to it.
- Planting for calm. Structure over colour, movement over spectacle, and plants that forgive neglect.
- Small versions. Balcony, bedroom corner, shared flat — the whole thing at one-tenth scale.
- Winter. Keeping the place usable in the months when the habit usually dies.
